From Maui we flew to Honolulu via Go! airlines. We then drove to Kaneohe, on the windward side of the island, and stayed 5 nights in an “airbnb” with our host Sheila O’Keefe. She gave us many great suggestions of places to visit, and we became fast friends. On Oahu we re-visited Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head crater, Kailua beach, and Haunama Bay and celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary with David Ulrich, a photographer friend living in Honolulu.

Oahu is very different than Maui. Rugged, vertical mountain peaks dominate the skyline, especially on the windward side.
