Our last 6 nights were spent in a rental apartment 3 blocks from Waikiki Beach. Convenient, yes - beautiful, no. Surrounded by high rises and other odd buildings - mostly inhabited by local residents. Not a place to hang out. We returned to Pearl Harbor, and the Contemporary Museum where we met David Ulrich and his friend Laura for lunch. New was exploring Chinatown, the site of the Pegge Hopper Gallery. Chinatown was nearly destroyed for high rises a number of years ago, but is now a vital part of the community. Aloha!
